**Matriarch Carve** inflicts damage, has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Defense stat by one stage, and bypasses accuracy checks to always hit, unless the target is in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move such as [[https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Dig_(move)|Dig]] or [[https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Fly_(move)|Fly]].
