Dawnian Grovyle (GROW-vile) is a Fire/Ground-type Pokémon introduced in v1.0 of Horizon 'Mons. It is the evolution of Dawnian Treecko.

Grovyle fight for dominance by spitting molten glass at one another; the first to bow out of the challenge or be rendered incapable of continuing loses.

Dawnian Grovyle evolves from Dawnian Treecko at level 16. Dawnian Grovyle evolves into Varunalas at level 36.

Dawnian Grovyle can spawn in Nether Wastes and Crimson Forest Biomes. If Terralith is installed, it can also spawn in Volcanic and Ashen biomes. It is a Ultra-rare spawn, and can spawn at level 16-35.

• While the Dawnian Torchic and Dawnian Mudkip line and Dawnian Treecko line were originally conceived on December 5, 2022, Dawnian Grovyle and the other middle stages were not made until 2026, as the starters used to be 2 stages.

Dawnian Grovyle is based on many different kinds of reptiles, like the Komodo Dragon and Agama Lizards. It is also heavily based on the concept of vitrification and molten glass in the wild. Dawnian Grovyle is also based on the concept of habitat displacement, as in lore, Hoennian Treecko were moved from their forest habitat to higher volcanic regions due to flooding.

Grovyle may be a combination of grove (a group of trees), reptile, and possibly vine or ivy.
