Dawnian Mudkip (MUD-kip) is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in v1.0 of Horizon 'Mons.
Pokédex Entry
Mudkip's migrated deeper into swamps, facing new predators. It chose to hide in plain sight under lily pads to survive. This lily pad became an extension of Mudkip's body.
Evolution
Dawnian Mudkip evolves into Dawnian Marshtomp at level 16.
Locations
Dawnian Mudkip can spawn in Swamp biomes. It is an Ultra-Rare spawn and can spawn at level 5-21.

- Along with the Dawnian Torchic and Dawnian Treecko line, Dawnian Mudkip and its line are the oldest Pokemon in Horizon 'Mons, being conceived on December 5, 2022. Dawnian Mudkip is, however, the oldest of the trio.
- Dawnian Mudkip is Lukidon's favorite.
Origin
Dawnian Mudkip, unlike a lot of Pokémon, doesn't really have a main inspiration built around it. It's really just based on axolotls, frogs and lily pads. Its personality, however, is based on the gentle giant trope.
Etymology
Mudkip may be a combination of mud, skip, and mudskipper.
