Scameleon (Skam-mee-lee-uhn) is a Normal/Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in v1.0 of Horizon 'Mons. It is the evolution of Kecleon.

Evolving has allowed it to not only become better at camouflage, but also become nearly intangible. It pulls pranks and steals food from others for fun; it will not take from Sobble due to the fear of Inteleon being nearby.

Scameleon evolves from Kecleon at level 39. Scameleon does not evolve.

Scameleon can spawn nearby gold blocks. It is a Common spawn, and can spawn at level 40-78.

Scameleon possesses the Signature Move Shadow Swipe.

• At first, Scameleon was called “Crookleon”; the name was swapped because it didn't roll off the tongue well.
• Scameleon's purple color is a reference to the Mystery Dungeon Kecleon.
• Its tail was detachable in early iterations, and it could be used as a club. This was abandoned later on as it didn't fit the character well.
• The initial pitch for Scameleon was the idea that Inteleon had a sort of villain counterpart.
• The Jackson Chameleon was a reference early on, but later on became more inspired by the Frilled Lizard.
• Scameleon was originally going to receive a heavy redeisgn, but it was decided against as the redesign was ended up not looking the part.

Scameleon is based on a Chameleon and Frilled Lizard. Its purple coloring is based on the Kecleon from Mystery Dungeon. Its black eye coverings, hands, and feet are to reflect its criminal nature, resembling a mask, gloves, and boots, respectively. Its white and translucent tail is to reflect its ghost typing. Its color change ability is based on the Chameleon's ability to camouflage.

Scameleon is a combination of the words Scam and Chameleon.
